Gómez-Martínez, Lorena Guadalupe

Overview

Lorena Gómez is a professor in Computer Science and Information Systems in the areas of Databases, Business Intelligence, Analytics, and Software Engineering. Lorena is the coordinator of one the Tec21 initiatives, "i-Semester on Big Data, Data Analytics & Data Science to optimize resources in your organization" a project to solve a challenge of a company analyzing real data. In the last 30 years, Lorena has collaborated in TI projects with local industry and international organizations and universities. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of both the Microsoft Dynamics Academic Alliance and the Microsoft Enterprise Consortium. She also was the Director of the Master Program in Software Engineering and Information Technology at ITESM. Lorena received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Arizona State University. Lorena is a Fulbright fellow, a member of the UPE Computer Science Honor Society, and a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Lorena received a Teaching and Research Award from Monterrey Tec in 2011, and a special Inspiring professor Award during ITESM 70 & 75 Anniversary. On January 2019, Lorena was recognized with a Service, Leadership and Intellectual Vitality award by ITESM.
