Sandoval-Reyes, Mexitli Eva

Overview

Dr. Mexitli Sandoval is a professor-researcher at Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Santa Fe. Her main field of expertise is the modeling, simulation, and optimization of sustainable urban systems. She has worked in the area of distributed energy generation, energy efficiency, solar refrigeration, thermal energy systems, and urban solid waste management. More recently, she has collaborated on a project for wildfire risk assessment using artificial intelligence. She has also developed skills in data science throughout her career. This includes knowledge of supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms for data classification, regression, and clustering. She has programming skills, mainly in Python, and web development. From 2000 to 2003, Dr. Sandoval was a researcher at the Instituto Superior Técnico in the University of Lisbon. Additionally, she holds a double-degree Ph.D. in Sustainable Energy Systems and Ph.D. in Engineering. They were issued, respectively, by the Instituto Superior Técnico in Portugal and by the IMT-Atlantique in France. She has a M.Sc. degree in Energy Engineering issued by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM - Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México). She holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering issued by Tecnológico de Monterrey. Finally, she also obtained a Ph.D. in Energy Innovation and Entrepreneurship from InnoEnergy - European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). Finally, she collaborated with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as a visiting scholar in 2019 and worked in the industrial sector as a project manager from 2008 to 2011.
