Rubio-González, Carlos
Overview
Dr. Rubio is a research professor at the Tec de Monterrey, Querétaro campus, in the School of Engineering and Sciences at Mechanics and Advanced Materials Department. He has a PhD degree from the University of Notre Dame in the United States in Mechanical Engineering. He has leaded several research and development projects. The areas of interest are development of composite and additively manufactured materials with multifunctional capabilities by the incorporation of carbon nanostructures; innovation of the laser surface treatment technique to improve the performance of metallic materials and development of equipment for specific applications. The research results are included in 90 international publications in indexed journals, 5 book chapters, 77 participations in international conferences and 19 patents. According to Google Scholar, the citations are 2860 and the h-index is 30. Regarding Human Resources training, he has supervised 70 postgraduate theses. He has received the National Research Award from the Mexican Academy of Sciences. He is a member of the SNI (National System of Researchers) level 3, the Mexican Academy of Sciences, and the Academy of Engineering. He has been a guest professor on various occasions in France, Spain, and Argentina
