Domínguez-Cuenca, María de los Angeles

Overview

Angeles Dominguez is Associate Dean of Faculty Development at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, a graduate professor at the School of Humanities and Education, and an associate researcher at the Institute for the Future of Education at Tecnológico de Monterrey. In addition, she collaborates with the Faculty of Engineering of the Andrés Bello University in Santiago, Chile. She obtained a bachelor's degree in industrial physical engineering from Tecnologico de Monterrey and a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education from Syracuse University, New York. Because of her research, she is a member of the National System of Researchers, SNI-2. Her main research areas are a) interdisciplinarity in science, technology, and innovation, b) gender studies in STEM, and c) teacher development. Dr Domínguez serves as group leader in projects on gender studies in STEM, mathematical and interdisciplinary modeling, and health learning communities. Due to her interest in the participation of women in science, she has been a mentor in the 1000Girls-1000Futures program of the Global STEM Alliance and recently Mentor in Science (British Council), as well as in the "Academic Women in STEM Mentoring Program" project founded by British Council. Finally, her commitment to promoting the dissemination of knowledge motivates her to assume leadership roles in groups and associations, such as The International Community of Teachers of Modeling and Mathematical Applications (ICTMA), Latin American Coordinator of Teachers Teaching with Technology (conTigo T3), Judge Finalist of the International Mathematical Modeling Challenge (IMMC), Physics Division of the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE), North American Chapter of Psychology of Mathematics Education (PME-NA) and Research and Innovation Network of Northeast Mexico ( REDIIEN), and QS Reimagine Education judge since 2018.
