  • This study identifies barriers hindering solar energy projects in Mexico and explores factors influencing public acceptance. Utilizing latent variables, the research reveals a correlation between low solar energy acceptance and government disinterest. Younger age and higher education levels positively correlate with greater support for environmental conservation and solar projects. Such results emphasize the need for proactive strategies by policymakers, project developers, and other stakeholders in Mexico. Similarly, this study reveals the perception of the participants regarding government¿s pivotal role in providing financial incentives and promoting solar initiatives to enhance public trust and acceptance of solar energy. © 2024 by the authors.
