abstract

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) has grown exponentially in the last few years, and has presented opportunities and challenges in several sectors, including Higher Education. AI's potential to engineering companies is significant, nevertheless, there are concerns about the abuse of AI in decision making. In an educational context, some universities have forbidden the use of AI because it directly affects the understanding and learning process of students. Other universities, such as Tecnologico de Monterrey, promote the use of it as a tool to help students and teachers in the process of teaching-learning. It is important to understand the benefits, risks, and ethical concerns of the use of AI. This paper examines the implementation process of AI at the Tecnologico de Monterrey form learning and teaching approach, exploring the student and teachers' vision in the context of Tec21 Educative Model. © 2024 Proceedings of the 26th International Conference on Engineering and Product Design Education: Rise of the Machines: Design Education in the Generative AI Era, E and PDE 2024.
