abstract

  • Virtual learning platforms have become an integral part of today's educational environment, providing numerous opportunities for student development and progress. This study evaluates the impact of the KIMEN simulator on the development of managerial, entrepreneurial, cognitive, and socio-emotional competencies in university students. Using a mixed methods approach, the research involved 34 undergraduate engineering and business students at a private Mexican university. The results suggest that KIMEN is an effective platform for teaching project management, providing personalized learning, and motivating students. The results highlight the advantages of KIMEN in simulating authentic project scenarios and transforming theoretical knowledge into practical knowledge. This study provides empirical evidence to support the integration of KIMEN into project management education and provides valuable information for educators and institutions. Continued evaluation and refinement are recommended to optimize its impact on student outcomes, thus consolidating its role as an innovative tool in the education of future professionals. © 2024 IEEE.
