abstract
- Continuing education courses are crucial for workers to keep up with technological advancements. The Kirkpatrick model measures the impact of such courses, including emotional response, information effectiveness, behavior impact, and business impact. However, measuring behavior and business impact can be challenging. This research offers examples of how continuing education programs can enhance organizations' return on investment (ROI) and showcases how continuous education at Tecnologico de Monterrey can help develop lifelong learning competencies in post-graduate participants and employees from different backgrounds. The paper presents an overview of programs implemented in companies to develop skills and competencies per the employer's requirements. The aim is to describe how the proposed program offers certification opportunities to participants. This work presents examples of continuous education programs related to levels 3 and 4 of the Kirkpatrick model. The impact of the programs has been confirmed by letters of approval attesting to their success. They showcase the application of acquired knowledge, positively impacting strategic business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and fostering innovation through agile methodologies. Collaboration between industry and academia through continuing education courses benefits both employees and employers. Investing in lifelong skills generates wealth and ensures employees remain competitive and productive in the ever-evolving business landscape. © 2025 IEEE.
