The widespread adoption of Industry 4.0 marks a significant technological shift in various business sectors, aiming to enhance the interconnectivity of systems, machines, individuals, and products. However, its implementation frequently encounters obstacles, including financial limitations, a lack of clear guidance, and insufficient technology awareness. Addressing these challenges necessitates that organizations have practical tools to evaluate their adoption of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation processes. This research is dedicated to examining and improving assessment tools. This study aims to develop and confirm the structural and functional validity of an Industry 4.0 assessment tool. The methodology consists of conducting semi-structured interviews with a diverse group of professionals, including three academics, five consultants, and four experts from the automotive industry, all specializing in digital transformation. This research's primary contribution lies in validating and enhancing the assessment tool. The findings from the interviews indicate that the refined assessment instrument will benefit productivity, cost-efficiency, and competitiveness, particularly in the industries of Latin America and Europe. © 2025 IEEE.
