abstract

  • This article explores the thought of Gloria Anzaldúa as a source for a postcapitalist imagination, focusing on her concepts of relational identity, multiplicity, and the transformative power of imagination and writing to challenge oppressive realities such as capitalist realism. It positions Anzaldúa's philosophy, rooted in indigenous epistemologies and an ontology of radical interconnection, in critical dialogue with contemporary currents like posthumanism and new materialisms. The text is structured into two main parts and a conclusion. The first part contextualizes debates on posthumanism, new materialisms, and new realism in times of crisis. The second part questions whether Anzaldúa is a postcapitalist philosopher, analyzing her theories, particularly regarding imagination as an embodied faculty and decolonial tool, through works like "Light in the Dark" and theories systematized by Ana Louise Keating and other authors based on the problematization of multiple agency and relational identity. © 2025, CONICET - Emiliano Aldegani.
