- This work presents a brief summary to show the resilience of cross-correlation measurements in optical systems under simulated atmospheric turbulence employing a Sagnac-based wavefront folding interferometer. Our findings indicate that the scheme enables accurate cross-correlation measurements, providing information about the structure in the beam even with turbulence in the media. The demonstrated resilience of cross-correlation measurements suggests that employing this apparatus, in the partially coherent regime, offers a reliable method for information retrieval in free-space optical communications and remote sensing, where atmospheric turbulence can adversely affect signal quality. © COPYRIGHT SPIE.
