Proposal for a Faculty Training Program to Integrate Labor-Market-Oriented KSAs into Class Activities Using a KSA Taxonomy Framework

As labor markets evolve in response to digitalization, automation, and Industry 4.0, higher education must equip students with Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) that match these dynamic demands. However, many faculty members lack structured, data-informed approaches for integrating emerging occupational trends into curriculum design. To address this gap, we propose a faculty development program grounded in a dynamic, artificial intelligence-enhanced KSA taxonomy framework. This artificial intelligence-powered platform analyzes online job postings to produce dynamic KSA taxonomies and occupational dashboards. Focused on the information and communications technology (INFOCOMM) sector, the proposed training guides instructors in aligning their teaching strategies with labor market requirements using backward design, constructivist methodologies, and project-based learning. The program consists of five modules designed to support curriculum mapping, KSA-driven instructional redesign, and iterative evaluation processes. Through illustrative use cases and practical tools such as KSA-aligned rubrics and digital dashboards, the program aims to foster faculty capacity for curricular innovation. This model is both research-informed and scalable, offering practical methods for integrating labor market data into teaching practices. By empowering educators to connect academic content with industry-relevant competencies, this initiative contributes to the creation of resilient, future-ready learning environments in higher education.
