In this article we present a theoretical proposal that links the studies (and policies) regarding historic memory to those related to the cultural industries and media systems through which the narratives associated with a politically interested memory flow, denominated here as propaganda. To this end, we address a theoretical debate that links the aforementioned concepts, placing emphasis on the possible contributions of the propaganda studies to the debates on historic memory and the construction/manufacture of social imaginaries.
