- © 2016 IEEE.Precision agriculture requires the use of automation techniques to improve the productivity through optimization of natural resources. Therefore, continuous data acquisition of environmental, soil and crop variables must be conducted real-time. Data-loggers are typically used with sensors and actuators to implement automated actions within precision agriculture. However commercially available data-loggers do not offer enough flexibility, scalability and connectivity services. In this work, the design and development of modular data-acquisition system for precision agriculture is described, capable to be adapted to different agricultural automation requirements. The proposed system has been evaluated in representative precision agriculture scenarios.
