  • ¬© 2017 IEEE.The photovoltaic system works in stand-alone or grid applications, where the operation at the maximum power point (mPP) of generation is required. Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm allows increasing the output power and it works commonly with a DC-DC converter. This work shows a novel analysis and the basic features of response about different topologies of DC-DC converters with MPPT algorithms under several environmental conditions. The benchmark is mandatory in order to design a MPPT controller that satisfies maximum power generation. The design process and comparison of conventional MPPT algorithms applied to different topologies of DC-DC converters to photovoltaic system is presented. Furthermore, a comparative study of technical aspects such as specific design features, tracking speed and efficiency are reported.
