- © 2019 IEEE.One of the most relevant challenge of Smart Cities is an effective transport service in terms of safety, mobility, environment and data. In this sense, it is important to investigate the vehicular propagation by means of 3D deterministic tools in urban scenarios, for Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applications. In this work, the vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) radio wave propagation for an urban infrastructure wireless communication system has been assessed for 5.9 Ghz. A realistic urban scenario has been implemented in an in-house 3D Ray Launching algorithm and Large-Scale and Small-Scale analysis are presented and discussed. Results and analysis provide useful information for optimal node location in the planning phase of radio communication deployment.
