Smart elastomers for the sensing of force and vibration: A proof of concept Academic Article in Scopus uri icon

abstract

  • © copyright Environment and Climate Change Canada.A smart sensor is proposed for the measurement of vibration and forces on automotive structures. The concept includes transducer, energy harvesting, energy storage and wireless transmitter. The use of smart materials consisting of smart elastomers using carbon nanotubes and piezoelectric sensors shows potential applications in chassis measurements. All the generated information from the sensor is recorded in the cloud on real time.
