  • © 2020 ACM.During the second third of this year, Mexico lives the first stage of an educational transformation that abruptly migrated to a new educational paradigm characterized by distance education models. This paper presents a case analysis carried out at the Tecnologico de Monterrey on the concept of an optimal learning experience, which comes from the Flow Theory. Through a parallel survey applied to students and teachers, we evaluated the difference between both populations' perceptions of the construct called learning flow. Contrast analysis of proportions shows that the learner's perception is different from the one who teaches, within a distance teaching-learning process mediated by Educational Technology Tools. This study enables a discussion on the use and role that educational technologies adopt within the teaching-learning process based on the pedagogical principles of curiosity, challenge, concentration, and enjoyment, related to new teaching intervention schemes. The analysis presented shows that, within this new educational dynamic, the appropriate use and management of the technological learning environment is crucial to achieving an optimal state of learning, revealing new challenges and future work guidelines in the educational field.
