- © 2021 Policy Studies Organization.Over the last several decades, the political environment in the Mexican state of Chihuahua has radically changed. The factors that have influenced this change include the economic integration and regional markets that have been fostered between Mexico and the United States; an increasing presence of organized crime; and civil society and private corporations that have responded in a way resembling the electoral realignment conditions that seem to have been consolidated with the last election. This article reviews these factors.
