López-Montiel, Angel Gustavo

Overview

He was born in Mexico City, where he studied Political Science at the National University of Mexico. He moved into New York City, where he enrolled at The New School for Social Research, were he studied an MA and a Ph.D. in Political Science. He has also attended courses at Harvard University, the University of Michigan, Loyola University and Regina University in Canada. Since 2000, he is a Political Science Professor at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus, where also was Chair of Political Science. He has been actively involved in courses at the BA and Graduate levels, and has conducted several research projects on elections, political parties, Latin American politics, and strategic management. He has also been professor at other national and international universities like UC Berkeley, INSEEC in Paris and Bourdeax, and at the Univesidad de los Andes in Venezuela, Universidad de Salamanca in Spain, National University of Mexico, the Iberoamericana University, the National Institute of Public Administration, at the undergraduate and graduate levels, special courses, diplomas and workshops. He has been a visiting scholar at Yale University, Harvard University, the University of Connecticut, the University of Salamanca, El Colegio de México, etc. He has also worked in government positions form the lower middle to high ranks of decision making. He has authored 3 books, edited 8 books, and written more than 30 book chapters and 35 journal articles on political parties, elections, comparative politics, public administration, strategic management and political science methods. He is also consulted by different electronic media, newspapers and magazines like, Newsweek, Univision, Le Monde, CNN, El Clarín, Reforma, Forbes, El Universal, Proceso, Milenio, El Nacional, El Financiero, Excélsior, Voz y Voto, Este País y Expansión, Radio 620 AM, Detrás de la Noticia, IMER, Radio Educación, Noticieros MVS, Radio Monitor, Radio Capital, Formato 21, Radio UNAM, MVS, TVAzteca, Televisa, Canal 11, Canal 34, Canal 22 y Canal 40, among others.
