- © 2022 ACM.Microbiology students have problems understanding the microbial world and its interactions because they have lost the interest and motivation for self-learning. This proposal consists of offering students an imaginary trip through virtual video in which the students can achieve a total immersion in the microbial world and in that way, their interest and commitment to their learning will increase hugely. We applied to 94 students distributed in three groups of Fundamentals of Microbiological Systems. We used a 360-degree interactive video that simulated a bacterial infection in situ, showing virtual environments. Qualitative and Quantitative tests were carried out and we measured the acquisition of knowledge and satisfaction level of the students. A significant increase in the average grades of the students was observed. In fact, after using the video, they passed the test with higher grades (around 90 points). Then if they had not seen the video, as the control group whose grades failed with less than 70 points. Moreover, the students expressed that their satisfaction level was very high and they found very useful the application of the interactive videos to learn subjects from health or medical areas, as in this case microbiology.
