Water is a priceless substance that powers every part of existence. It powers society¿s most imperative industries, including agriculture, transportation, and electricity; laterally it is also necessary for basic health and hygiene. Nowadays, there are significant and widespread repercussions of human activity on land and water. Due to the consequences of global shifts, including inflation in population, socioeconomic reforms, the rise in need for energy, and climate change, all these factors are causing unprecedented pressure on water resource systems. It is considered that ensuring global water security is essential to sustainable development. This paper highlights the present scenario of water security and its availability in various parts of Asia. The paper also draws attention to the five key dimensions of water security, that is, household water security, environmental water security, urban water security, economic water security, and resilience to water-related disasters. All Asian countries are currently confronting water issues that cannot be fully resolved by a single intervention, but there are many things that may be done to increase water security. © 2025 John Wiley & Sons Ltd.
