Academic quality and educational effectiveness should be prioritized by international and national entities, as well as educational centers. These concepts include various factors across different levels, including systems, institutions, teachers, and students. In order to continuously improve and achieve quality and effectiveness in the educational context, this chapter recommends implementing effective academic strategies through the following steps: planning and defining objectives, using all necessary resources to execute and implement plans, and evaluating, measuring, and demonstrating the impact of the strategy. Each stage is exemplified by a case at the institutional level, such as an accreditation process, and a case at the micro level, such as implementing an educational innovation. In conclusion, all educational practices must contribute to the quality and effectiveness of the teaching-learning process. Therefore, using academic quality as a reference is a good starting point to generate strategies that promote continuous improvement. © 2025 The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
