abstract

  • This chapter aims to enrich the discussion on global citizenship by emphasizing the urgency of cultivating planetary consciousness. It proposes the integration of psychological restoration into global citizenship education as a response to today¿s interconnected crises. Drawing on environmental psychology, it argues that natural environments enhance emotional balance, resilience, and pro-environmental behavior. Educational approaches developed by Joanna Macy, Chris Johnstone, and Hala Khouri underscore the importance of emotional resilience, empathy, and collective care. Ultimately, the chapter advocates for a holistic pedagogy that connects personal well-being with ecological responsibility, fostering a paradigm shift from individuality to interconnection.
