Multiplayer System for a Collaborative Experience Using Digital Technologies in a Physical Space Chapter in Scopus uri icon

abstract

  • This paper presents a multiplayer system to incorporate digital technologies, such as Virtual Reality (VR), to provide a collaborative experience for showing architectural spaces within an exhibition. The system is based on a client-server model to enable the interaction between participants and the general audience to interact within the same virtual environment in real-time. The central server manages communication with clients, such as a VR headset running an application. This application immerses users in virtual rooms, enabling them to explore and create paintings using virtual tools. The other clients enable the interaction between the real and virtual worlds to enhance the experience. The proposed system provides the participants with an engaging experience and offers a dynamic and interactive platform for art education and creation. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
