abstract

  • After year and a half of not having presential activities in classrooms and laboratories, a way was found for a new environment to generate more easily engineering outcomes on automation and autonomous driving. This learning space is an educational innovation that allows the design and construction of low-cost prototypes of autonomous vehicles, to carry out competitions and encourage learning through it. The main goal is to improve the development of skills in industrial automation area, embedded systems, and digital manufacturing area through the implementation of a new learning space. The scope of this space is to attend different areas of engineering majors. The necessary knowledge to develop a project that will integrate the different prototyping technologies to improve the design, construction and start-up of a challenging project will be clarified. The real impact on the student will be found in the challenging learning experiences they will face. The design concepts will be experimentally validated in a disruptive, innovative, and safe space. Another impact will be the flexibility in the learning process. The purpose of this project is to be able to develop competitions in which different areas are involved, not only engineering, and turn it into the great gateway to electromobility projects and that when the students arrive, they already have enough experience to experiment without fear of breaking down the team or injure a teammate. In addition to that they are developing skills in students that are needs of the current industry. This innovation will provide new learning spaces that will strengthen us as leaders in educational innovation.
