Krisztina Lengyel is an economist and a professor specializing in international affairs and strategic foresight.
Dr. Krisztina Éva Lengyel Álmos, of Mexican and Hungarian nationality, is a professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where she teaches courses in strategic foresight, sustainability, economic development, international economics, competitiveness, and geopolitical risk analysis. She also teaches in Executive and Continuing Education programs at Tecnológico de Monterrey, aimed at professionals and decision-makers.
She holds a PhD in Administrative Economics from the Autonomous University of Querétaro, graduating with honors and academic distinction. She also earned a Master of Public Affairs from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas, and a Bachelor¿s degree in International Economics from the Budapest University of Economics.
Her career is defined by the integration of academic, governmental, and industrial spheres through applied research and foresight methodologies, particularly scenario building. She has supervised more than 100 student projects in collaboration with companies and civil society organizations, incorporating foresight-based thinking into real-world decision-making processes.
Before joining academia, she was a business entrepreneur and held executive positions in multinational technology companies in the United States, Hungary, and Mexico, including her role as Regional Director of Finance and Operations for Latin America at Graphisoft.
Her publications address economic development and competitiveness, sustainability transitions, cryptocurrencies, and global economic risks using foresight-based approaches.
In recognition of her teaching excellence, she has received multiple awards as Best Professor of the International Relations program at her campus, as well as the ¿Circle of Distinguished Professors 2025¿ institutional recognition from Tecnológico de Monterrey. She actively participates in international conferences and academic networks on international political economy and futures studies, contributing to debates on Latin America¿s position in the global system and the evolution of governance in times of technological and geopolitical transformation.
