Cantú-Delgado, José Humberto

Overview

Got a bachelor degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering and an MBA from Tecnologico de Monterrey, a masters in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Management Systems by Cass Business School - City University London, UK. Has taught at ITESM since 1981 and is currently the Dean of the School of Business, Social Sciences and Humanities from 2009 to date. Has served as principal advisor or synodal in more than 100 master's and doctoral theses, and participated in the research group of European studies on business competitiveness. Served as Coordinator of the multi-disciplinary team that developed the current model of the National Quality Award in 2008, called "Organizational Model for Competitiveness" and currently leads the team responsible for keeping it updated. Was also coordinator of the international research team on business competitiveness, as part of the group's "Global Excellence Models", an organization that brings together institutions from all regions of the world that manage quality awards. Author of 3 books from McGraw Hill, one of them widely used as a textbook in several universities in Latin America: "Developing a Quality Culture" 4th. Edition, published in 2011. In his personal life, Humberto has practiced American football, tennis and jogging, ran several marathons in the past years. Also enjoys reading and cinema. Married to Elvira Torres Saldivar and have 4 children: Paulina, Sofia, Ana and Jose Humberto.
