Overview
Cecilia López de la Rosa has been a full-time professor at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Estado de México, since January 2004, however her collaboration with the Tecnológico at Campus Monterrey as a part-time professor dates back to 1992. She was Director of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design from 2010 to 2012 and Technical Advisor at CENEVAL at a national level for the Architecture bachelor at the Tecnológico de Monterrey from 2013 to 2017. She graduated with a B.A. in Architecture at Campus Monterrey in 1990. From 1990 to 1992 she worked with Arquitectos Consultores, SA de C.V., a design and construction company located in Monterrey. From 1992 to 1994, she developed private projects and in 1994 she joined Sagarnaga Arquitectos as a partner in the firm, which focuses mainly on the development of residential projects. In 1995 she departed to the Higher Technical School of Architecture (ETSA) of the University of Navarra, in Pamplona, Spain, from where she obtained a Ph.D. in Architecture in January 2000. The thesis focuses on design habits involving classical orders: architectural endings as a common formula of architectural design: a study of the classical entablature. She has been a professor at the ETSA, University of Navarra; the Master's program in Architecture at the University of Nuevo León; the Master's program in Architecture and New Urbanism at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Puebla Campus and has collaborated on courses with the University of Arkansas School of Architecture. In her teaching experience, she has taught mainly in the areas of history and theory of architecture, and in architectural project workshops, in English and Spanish. Since her change of residence from the city of Monterrey to CDMX, in 2004, she has developed private projects, mainly offices, residential and furniture. She is currently the National Coordinator of the Academic Communities of the School of Architecture, Art and Design (EAAD) and Representative of professors for the Committee of Classification of professors in the CDMX Region for the EAAD.
