Verduzco-Garza, Raúl Carlos

Overview

One of my greatest passions has always been literature, since it links us with multiple cultural conditions and forms of knowledge. Through literature it is possible to reformulate our very conception of things, and that is probably what I enjoy the most: raise doubts, problematize, and understand in a very different way what we believe we already understand; rewrite ourselves as many times as possible. I am particularily interested in the knowledge purported by the disciplines in the humanities, in addition to mere contents: different forms of imagination, connection, distinction, association, and even of decision making. In that sense, literature is a privileged form of these forms of knowledge that the humanities convey, since it offers other ways to be human as a possibility to approach to those who don't think like us. Beyond my professional activity, my work consists in creating conditions to change and transform things about ourselves and the community, through what art, literature and cultural practices have for us to discover.
