Talamás-Carvajal, Juan Andrés

Overview

Juan Andrés Talamás is a Postdoctoral Researcher for the Shaping Skills project of the Institute for the Future of Education (IFE), Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico. His role is centered around performing research and predictions the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities required by different industries, and how Educational Institutions can be developed through their programs. He has also worked on projects centered on research and predictions regarding student dropout, and the necessary steps to prevent students leaving their studies. He earned his Master¿s degree in Control Systems from the Imperial College London, and his PhD in Computer Science from Tecnologico de Monterrey. He has also received the Early Carreer Researcher fund from SoLAR. His expertise lies in Explainable Artificial Intelligence, and its uses in detecting differences in feature effects between subpopulations in a wide range of cases, including education. He is focused on how to provide useful, actionable, and understandable information based on AI models towards preventing student dropout.
