Dr. Montalvo is the Director of EGADE Business School in Guadalajara. His fields include: Applied Microeconomics, Global Management, Industrial Organization, Marketing (Applied and Theory), Game Theory, Econometrics and Business Analytics. In addition, he has worked as a business consultant and has taught at different campuses of Tecnológico de Monterrey throughout Mexico and as a visiting professor in countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Panama, France, Japan, England and the United States. He started his professional career at the insurance sector.
He has participated as a professor in the Global Network for Advanced Management teaching a SNOC course in Global Management to business schools such as Yale, London School of Economics, Oxford, McGill, Hitotsubashi, among others. And as an instructor in Executive Education programs for companies such as Ternium, Caterpillar, CISCO, Continental, BIMBO, amongst others.
He also directs the research group in Business Analytics at EGADE Business School.
Dr. Montalvo received his Doctoral degree from the University of Essex; and a Master's Degree in Economics, from the Center for Research and Teaching Economics (CIDE in Mexico). He also has summer studies in Geographic Economics and Overlapped Generations from La Universidade Tecnologica de Lisboa, in Portugal, Doing Business in China from Fudan University and Peking University, Entrepreneurship from Babson College, Business Analytics and Data Visualization in Stevens Institute of Technology. Recently he concluded a short online program on Customer Analtics from Wharton and a certificate in Business Analytics from University of Texas.
Dr. Montalvo is member of the National System of Researchers by the Ministry of Science and Technology in Mexico, member of the board at the American Chamber of commerce in the Guadalajara chapter and member of the board at Instituto de Información Estadística y Geografica (IIEG). He has also served as member of the Committee of Economic Analysis of COPARMEX Jalisco and was part of the board of advisors of the former Ministry of Economics of the State of Jalisco, Mexico.
