Bautista-Flores, Claudia

Overview

Dra. Claudia Bautista Flores is a Professor at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM), teaching Solid State Physics, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, Mechanics and Materials characterization courses. She did her bachelor in Physics at the Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP), then she did a master in Physics and she obtained her Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 2016, where she also was an assistant professor in a Thermodynamics master course. Her work was mainly related to synthesis, characterization, and functionalization of carbon materials. One of the worries she observed since she was a student was the lack of women in science field, and why do women stop their professional growing at some point of their life? That is why besides teaching physics, she is also interest in doing research related to education, women empowerment, and psychology.
