Dr. Claudia Angélica Ramírez Herrera
She graduated in Chemical Engineering Processes from the Instituto Tecnológico de Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas, in 2008. In 2014, she earned her Master's in Advanced Technology from CICATA-IPN, Altamira Campus. In 2018, she received her Ph.D. in Sciences in Nanosciences and Nanotechnology from CINVESTAV-IPN. She is the author of 14 scientific articles published in JCR-indexed journals and a member of the National System of Researchers, Level 1. From 2020 to 2022, she completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Centro de Investigación en Química Aplicada (CIQA) and has also undertaken research stays at the Escuela Superior de Ingeniería Química e Industrias Extractivas (ESIQUIE-IPN) and The University of Texas of Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). She has been part of the Institute of Advanced Materials for Sustainable Manufacturing at Tecnológico de Monterrey since 2022, working as a Postdoctoral Researcher.
Her main research areas include the chemical synthesis of polymers, the preparation of nanocomposites, and carbon-fiber-reinforced polymer composites for high-performance applications, including studying their mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. She has experience in surface modification of carbon nanomaterials and their characterization using various analytical techniques, as well as in the use of innovative manufacturing technologies for processing polymers and composites. She has also collaborated on various research projects with the industry, especially in the aerospace sector, and with national and international universities and research centers, such as the Southwest Research Institute.
