Cruz-Cruz, Isidro
Overview
Dr. Isidro Cruz, from Xalapa, Veracruz, obtained his bachelor s degree in Physics from the Faculty of Physics and Artificial Intelligence of the Universidad Veracruzana. He conducted postgraduate studies and obtained the degrees of Master's and PhD at the Institute for Research in Optical Communication (IICO) of the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí. The research work was focused on electro-active polymers (synthesis and their electro-optical characterization). Next, he performed postdoctoral work, first, at the IPICYT in the Advanced Materials Division, with the project "Chemical and Physical Synthesis of thin films based on conductive polymers ", and subsequently in the Department of Physics of the Federal University of Paraná (Curitiba, Brazil) with the projects Design and study of Field Effect Transistors (both planar and vertical architectures) and organic memories (Conacyt, 2012-2014) and "Solar cells based on Perovskites" (CAPES and CNPq funding, Brazil, 2014-2018) under the supervision of Prof. Ivo A. Hûmmelgen ( ). During this last period, he also studied thermoelectric devices and chemical sensors based on organic materials, and solar cells based on GaxSe1-x alloys.
In terms of teaching experience, he has taught undergraduate courses at the Facultad de Ciencias of the UASLP, at the Universidad Politécnica de San Luis Potosí, in the Department of Physics of the Universidade Federal do Paraná, and in Departamento de Ciencias of the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM).
At ITESM he has developed research related to carbon fiber-based composites for their application in the aeronautical industry (with Safran, Mexico), metal composites for their application in circuit breakers (with Siemens, Mexico), and finally, optoelectronic devices (thin films, organic memories, sensors) and systems for atmospheric water harvesting.
