Overview
Dr. Felipe A. Pérez Sosa is a Professor of Finance at the Business School of Tecnológico de Monterrey and the founding Director of the Center for Financial Access, Inclusion, and Research (FAIR), where he has designed and led collaborative projects with organizations such as the GAEIA network, Stanford University, Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth, the Royal Tropical Institute of the Netherlands (KIT), Solidaridad Network, BBVA, Pro Mujer, CEEY, FEMSA, the British Embassy in Mexico, UNDP, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), among others, with the aim to strengthen financial inclusion and resilience in Mexico and Latin America.
His research focuses on how financial systems can evolve to better serve individuals and society, particularly at the intersection of financial inclusion, household financial vulnerability, and sustainable finance, with an emphasis on policies and innovations that foster resilience and promote social mobility. Dr. Pérez Sosa is co-author of the books A Financial System for Social Mobility, Popular Finance in Mexico, and Management of Individual Capitalization Pension Funds in the Mexican Context, as well as numerous scientific articles and policy contributions.
He serves on various boards and advisory bodies, including the Investments Culture Advisory Board at Grupo Financiero Actinver, Research Advisory Council for Inclusive Green Finance Initiatives at the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI), the Advisory Committee of the Strive Learning Network (BFA and Mastercard), the Fintech Commission at COPARMEX, the Technical Committee of the Index at the Mexican Institute of Finance Executives, the Mexican Actuarial College, and the Family Council of the Municipality of Querétaro.
He holds a Ph.D. in Economic and Administrative Sciences from the Autonomous University of Querétaro (UAQ), an MBA from IEST Anáhuac University, and a Bachelor s degree in Business Administration and Finance from Universidad Panamericana. He is also a Fellow of the Financial Inclusion Leadership Program at The Fletcher School at Tufts University and has been appointed Visiting Faculty at Stanford University.
