Dr. Jose Antonio Cantoral-Ceballos is a Research Professor in the Advanced Artificial Intelligence group at Tecnologico de Monterrey. His research is driven by a passion for the intersection of machine learning and neuroscience, focusing on novel Deep Learning solutions for the study of neurological signals, cybersecurity, and language models. He firmly believes that while ML is key to unlocking the mysteries of neurological conditions, a deeper understanding of the brain will, in turn, lead to the generation of more advanced computational algorithms. Dr. Cantoral-Ceballos holds an M.Sc. and Ph.D. from the University of Manchester, focusing on algorithms for tomography imaging , followed by a Post-doctorate where he developed advanced data acquisition systems and imaging algorithms for remote health monitoring. He then transitioned to applied research as a Senior Engineer at Mexico's Advanced Technology Center (CIATEQ), architecting machine learning solutions for industrial challenges in Digital Signal Processing and computer vision. He is recognized as a Level 1 member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (SNI), and his work has been awarded at international conferences, including the Best Technical Presentation at the World Congress of Industrial Process Tomography, and Best Poster at the LatinX in AI Workshop in ICCV, in 2023.
