Castilleja-Escobedo, Orlando

Overview

Dr. Orlando Castilleja Escobedo has been a Lecturer at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Monterrey Campus, since 2023. He holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila (2012), an M.Sc. from Cinvestav Saltillo Unit (2017), and a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from Tecnológico de Monterrey (2023). In teaching, he instructs process engineering courses such as Fluid Flow System Design, Heat Transfer, and Chemical Reaction Engineering, while collaborating on the curriculum update for the Chemical Engineering program (Planes 2026), advising graduate theses, and developing educational innovation projects. On the research front, his work focuses on multiphase flow in porous media and the analysis of thermofluidic systems through a combination of experimental techniques and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), with publications in recognized journals such as Chemical Engineering Science and Results in Engineering. He complements his academic work with science outreach projects for high school students, faculty training, and the creation of educational content for the YouTube channel CFD Learning.
