Dr. Alejandro Javier García Cuéllar earned his bachelor¿s degree in Chemical Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Rice University. Before joining Tecnológico de Monterrey, he worked in technology development at Grupo Cydsa and served as a Research Professor at the Faculty of Chemical Sciences of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL).
At Tecnológico de Monterrey, Dr. García Cuéllar is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Renewable Energy. He served as the technical lead for the institution¿s participation in the Solar Cooling Project of the Mexican Center for Innovation in Solar Energy (CEMIE-Sol), funded by the Ministry of Energy (SENER) and CONACYT.
His research interests include Thermofluidic System Modeling and Simulation, Absorption Refrigeration, Solar Cooling, and Molecular Simulation. He has supervised over 20 master¿s theses, 2 doctoral dissertations, and 1 undergraduate thesis.
Dr. García Cuéllar received the 2010 Teaching and Research Award and has been a Regular Member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences since 2014. He is also recognized as a National Researcher Level I by the National System of Researchers (SNI). In addition to his academic work, he has developed consulting projects for companies such as Cydsa, Prolec-GE, and Danfoss.
He currently serves on the Academic Committees for the Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences, and the Master¿s in Engineering Sciences.
