Juan Alberto Amézquita Zamora is an Associate Professor at the School of Humanities and Education of Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Guadalajara, with 28 years of experience as a university professor and researcher. He is a member of Mexico¿s National System of Researchers (Level I) and holds a Ph.D. in Intercultural and International Studies from the University of Deusto in Bilbao, Spain. He earned his Bachelor¿s degrees in Philosophy from Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City and the University of Navarra in Pamplona, Spain, as well as a Baccalaureate in Theology from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, Italy.
Prof. Amézquita Zamora teaches General Education courses such as Ethics, Sustainability and Social Responsibility and Posthumanism, Ethics and Technology for undergraduate students. He collaborates with the Center for Faculty Development and Educational Innovation in professional development and mentoring programs for faculty, and serves on the National Committee for Faculty Classification Evaluation. He has also served as coordinator of the Committee on Ethical Risks and Data Governance within the fAIr LAC initiative, a joint effort of the Tecnológico de Monterrey¿s Artificial Intelligence Hub, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Government of the State of Jalisco.
Prof. Amézquita Zamora views research as a natural extension of teaching, aimed at enriching educational practice and generating knowledge with social relevance. His research interests focus on corporate sustainability and citizenship, the ethics of artificial intelligence, and education for complex thinking. He believes in the pedagogical power of dialogue and in the importance of designing learning experiences that integrate theory, practice, research, and technology to help form individuals capable of acting with purpose, ethical awareness, and civic commitment.
