González-Fernández, Edgar
Overview
Edgar González Fernández was born in Mexico City. He obtained his PhD in Mathematical Engineering, Statistics and Operations Research at Universidad Complutense de Madrid in 2023 and his PhD in Computer Science, which he completed at the Computer Science Department of CINVESTAV in 2020. In 2012, he obtained a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from the Department of Mathematics at CINVESTAV and in 2010, a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo.
He is currently professor at the Tec de Monterrey campus Monterrey, and has served as Research Professor at INFOTEC Aguascalientes, where he served as coordinator of the Master's Degree in Data and Information Science, which in 2022 was accepted as part of the National Graduate System (SNP) of CONAHCYT. He maintains a close collaboration with the Analysis, Security and Systems Group (GASS) at the Complutense University of Madrid, where he has participated in the supervision and design of proposals for European H-2020 projects.
His areas of interest include cryptography, information security, data science and image processing, fields in which he has contributed to the creation of articles in JCR indexed journals.
