Ortiz-Nadal, Enrique

Overview

He is full-time professor at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey since 1991, where he has taught various undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of chemical engineering and environmental engineering and sciences. He has participated in several consulting projects with both national and international chemical industries. Recently, he has ventured into the application of new technologies such as micro-reactors in the production of alternative fuels. He has several publications and presentations in national and international journals and conferences. At Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey, he has served as Director of the Clean Technology Center at the Environmental Quality Center (2002¿2005); Director of the Chemical and Systems Engineering (IQS) program (2005¿2011); and Director of the Chemical Engineering Department (2011¿2014). He served as Associate Director of the School of Engineering and Information Technologies for the Process Engineering and Sustainable Technologies area from 2014 to 2017. From 2017 to 2021, he was Director of the Department of Sustainable and Civil Technologies in the School of Engineering and Sciences for the Northern Region. In other institutional activities, he has participated in several curriculum design processes for the Chemical Engineering program, as well as serving as academic lead for the Chemical Engineering program in the new curriculum desing (2019). He is currently part of the Program Academic Aspects Team for the design of the 2026 curriculum for the Chemical Engineering program. He was national coordinator of the Chemical Engineering academic group and a member of the Academic Senate at Campus Monterrey. He was a member of the Technical Council for the EGEL in Chemical Engineering (2010¿2015) and is currently a member of the Technical Commission for Chemical Engineering at CACEI. He graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering and Administration (1988) and a master¿s degree in Engineering with a specialization in Process Systems (1990) from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey. He earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1998.
