Overview

Mariano García Martínez, Mexico City 1968. Industrial Designer from the Ibero-American University in Mexico City, he has a diploma in Interior Design and Architecture from the same university and a master degree in industrial design and product creation from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, in Barcelona, ¿¿Spain. His professional development includes the founding and operation of Áltica Objetos, a company that was dedicated from 1998 to 2003 to the design, manufacture and commercialization of innovative products of contemporary design for the home and office, achieving the positioning of the brand in stores specialized in furniture and interiors. nationwide, which earned him the invitation from Bancomext to participate in the International Gift Fair in New York in 2001. In 1993 he participated in the Europalia exhibition, in Brussels, Belgium, with the "Acaponeta" trunk, in 2003 with the "Helodia" table in the LOFT Design Room of the Ambiente Fair. Frankfurt, Germany and in 2010 at the CAJON-ERAS exhibition at the Querétaro Museum of Art and at the Franz Mayer Museum in Mexico City, as well as at the 9 + 9 event organized by Masisa where it presented the Irékua modular bathroom system at the Mexican Design Gallery. In 2010 he participated in the exhibition Identity and dialogue of design in Mexico, presented within the framework of Design Week in Mexico City and in 2011 he presented the exhibition "Put yourself on your paper" at the Museum of Art in Querétaro. In 2019 he participated with Mesa Helodia in the exhibition "Mexico is Mexico" at the Henrique Faria Fine Art Gallery in New York and in 2020, at the invitation of the Casa Gutiérrez Nájera Gallery, in Zona Maco in Mexico City. From 2014 to 2015 he was Associate Director of the School of Architecture, Art and Design of the Querétaro Campus of Tecnológico de Monterrey and from 2015 to 2020 he was Director of the Design Department in the Central Region of Tecnológico de Monterrey. He currently resides in Querétaro, he is a full-time professor in the Design Department of Tec de Monterrey and Partner Director of Industrial Design at Áltica Diseño where he has had the opportunity to serve clients with the most diverse needs for practical use and visual communication, developing interior design projects, product, signage, residential furniture and commercial exhibition.
