Zavala-Enríquez, Genaro

Overview

Genaro Zavala is the Associate Director of the Research Lab at the Institute for the Future of Education (IFE) at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where he leads and collaborates on multiple initiatives to promote research and innovation in education. He is also a Full Professor in the School of Engineering and Sciences. Recognized as a Level 2 National Researcher by Mexico¿s National System of Researchers (SNII-SECIHTI), he has developed a distinguished career in educational research spanning more than two decades. His research focuses on several areas, including conceptual understanding in physics and engineering education, the promotion and analysis of active learning methodologies, the integration of advanced technological tools into educational practices, and the emerging field of artificial intelligence applications in education. Dr. Zavala is also deeply involved in the development of rigorous assessment instruments designed to measure key competencies and learning outcomes. He has contributed to the design and implementation of faculty development programs that enhance teaching effectiveness through interdisciplinary and student-centered approaches. He is particularly interested in interdisciplinary STEM education, aiming to foster interdisciplinary thinking and collaboration among students and educators.
