Orona-Návar, Carolina

Overview

Carolina Orona Navar, originally from the state of Durango, graduated in 2020 from the Doctoral Program in Engineering Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey, with a focus on environmental nanotechnology. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Advanced Materials for Sustainable Manufacturing at Tecnológico de Monterrey. As a researcher and engineer, she has worked in the fields of green chemistry, advanced materials, nanotechnology and catalysis. She is currently working on the design of efficient nano- and microcatalysts for CO2 conversion, as well as the development of technologies for their application in carbon capture and utilization. Carolina has actively participated as a professor in the School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey, teaching courses in chemistry, nanotechnology and engineering. She has also participated in various collaborative research projects at the national and international levels. She has published scientific articles in indexed journals, especially in areas such as environmental chemistry and education. Her outstanding contributions were recognized with the COMEPO Award for Graduate Thesis for Innovation and Social Impact in Mexico in 2023. In 2022, she received the National Researcher Level I award from CONAHCYT, and in 2020, she was honored with the State Youth Award from the Government of the State of Durango. Carolina's impressive track record reflects her commitment to excellence in education, research, innovation and social impact.
