Moya-Bencomo, Marcos David
Overview
Marcos is part of the School of Engineering and Science at the Tecnologico de Monterrey University. He leads the Biomechanics area, which combines expertise in biomechanics, ISAK anthropometry, engineering and design, finite element, material testing, computer programming and physiology.
His professional background is in Biomedical Engineering, and he graduated in 2008 from the Tecnologico de Monterrey. His MSc is in Sports Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University granted by the Centre for Sports Engineering Research in 2010. He worked for the GB Boxing and the Baja California's University in the Sports Faculty. He obtained his Ph.D. from the School of Materials at the University of Manchester, focusing on Biomechanics of the Hip Prosthetics. His research was in agreement with the NHS and CONACyT. His expertise in biomechanics is within prosthetics, swimming, cycling and running. At the moment he is working closely with the university sports department, evaluating the performance of world-class athletes.
One of his main focuses is on the use of common technologies to create motion capture systems that can help to perform accurate and precise biomechanical analyses at a better cost for developing countries.
