Chedraui-Urrea, Jorge José Teodoro

Overview

I currently serve as the Biotechnology Engineering Program Director at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico City Campus, where I have led academic management, student success initiatives, curriculum planning, continuous improvement, and accreditation-related processes. My professional background combines academic program leadership, engineering education, curriculum design, project management, statistical analysis, educational innovation, and process improvement methodologies. I hold an MSc in Brewing Science and Practice from the University of Nottingham, awarded with Distinction, and a BSc in Biotechnology Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey. I also hold a Green Belt Lean Six Sigma Certification from Arizona State University and additional training in agile leadership, which has strengthened my ability to coordinate teams, manage projects, implement continuous improvement processes, and design innovation-oriented learning experiences. My institutional experience includes coordinating academic advising strategies, talent attraction initiatives, course planning, faculty collaboration, and actions aimed at strengthening the student learning experience. I have also contributed to CACEI accreditation processes and cross-functional projects within the School of Engineering and Sciences, supporting academic quality, continuous improvement, and program-level coordination. As a professor and curriculum designer, I have taught formation units related to process design, product development, bioprocesses, transport phenomena, and project management. I have participated in the design of two formation units, one of them as design team leader, and have contributed to the development of the analytical programs for two additional formation units. This experience has strengthened my ability to structure learning outcomes, align competencies, design assessment evidence, define evaluation strategies, and build learning experiences under the Tec21 educational model, incorporating active methodologies such as challenge-based learning, project-based learning, and agile approaches. My profile is complemented by consulting experience in process improvement, sampling system design, operation manuals, training, and validation, as well as entrepreneurial ventures focused on product development, operations, quality systems, and business model design. I integrate academic leadership, systemic thinking, continuous improvement, and the ability to connect engineering education with real needs from industrial, institutional, and social environments.
