Cuen-Rochin, Saul

Dr. Saul Cuen Rochin holds a Ph.D. in Physics from The University of British Columbia (UBC) and currently serves as Director of the Division of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Chihuahua Campus. He is also a research professor with previous experience at the Sinaloa Campus. He has more than twenty years of experience leading technological, industrial, scientific, and academic teams and projects in Mexico and abroad. His background includes faculty management and development, academic and financial planning, resource administration, infrastructure development, performance monitoring, and the coordination of multidisciplinary and interinstitutional initiatives. He has secured and managed public and private funding, established partnerships with companies, government agencies, universities, and international research centers, and led projects in artificial intelligence, automation, instrumentation, sensor technologies, and frontier science. He also has extensive experience as a speaker and institutional representative at national and international academic, scientific, technological, and business forums. His career combines academic leadership, applied research, industrial experience, and international engagement, together with a strong ability to develop talent, build consensus, mobilize teams, and transform external opportunities into sustainable institutional capabilities. He is recognized for his effective communication in both English and Spanish, his ability to engage with senior leadership, his results-oriented approach, and his enthusiasm for addressing complex challenges with regional, institutional, and societal impact.
