Aranda-Barradas, Juan Silvestre
Overview
Juan Silvestre Aranda Barradas, is a Biotechnological Engineer from the Interdisciplinary Professional Unit of Biotechnology (UPIBI) of the National Polytechnic Institute, a Master and PhD in Process Engineering from the National School of Chemical Engineering Engineers of the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse France, has completed a degree in Philosophy from the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He is the author of 50 articles published in national and international journals, including topics on bioprocess modeling, curriculum design, ethical training in engineering, and reading and critical analysis of texts. He is the author of 11 chapters and a patent on biotechnological process. He was a level I National Researcher by the National System of Researchers (SNI) from 2000 to 2020. He has supervised 23 bachelor's theses, 14 master's theses and 4 doctoral theses. He has participated as an expert academic advisor in various international projects and as a consultant for various companies in the biotechnology sector in the country. He was Director of the UPIBI between 2010 and 2013, General Director of Postgraduate Studies of the IPN between 2013 and 2018, and head of the Secretariat of Research and Postgraduate Studies from January 2018 to April 2021 of the same National Polytechnic Institute. He is currently developing the line of research on systemic biomanufacturing in the Department of Bioengineering of the State of Mexico Campus of Tecnológico de Monterrey, and belongs to the flagship project W360 of the research center on Climate and Sustainability.
