Cuevas-Ortuño, Jonathan

Overview

Associate Director of the Department of Industrial Engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Guadalajara campus. He holds a PhD in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from CIATEC (CONAHCYT Research and Technology Center) and has Master¿s degrees in Quality and Productivity Systems, as well as in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey. With more than twenty years of academic and professional experience, he has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in the areas of Operational Excellence, Lean Six Sigma, Simulation, Healthcare Systems Engineering, and Logistics. His career includes strong industry engagement, participating in consulting and training projects focused on process analysis and improvement for national and international organizations. At the institutional level, he serves as Academic Coordinator of the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt certifications, in addition to being an instructor in diploma programs on Operational Excellence and Computer-Based Process Simulation at Tecnológico de Monterrey. He has received multiple awards, including the ¿Inspirational Professor¿ award (2015) and the EXATEC recognition ¿Professors Who Leave a Mark¿ (2018 and 2023), as well as several distinctions as one of the best-evaluated professors in the School of Engineering. In the academic and research domain, he has collaborated with students in national and international process simulation competitions, earning first-place awards. He has also presented his research and educational innovation work at various academic forums at the national and international levels.
